Innsbruck's entertainment is varied, catering to all categories of travelers.
The convenient location of the complex allows vacationers to admire the city scenery from the windows and go for a walk at any time. The symbol of the city is the city tower built in 1450 with a mechanical clock. Steps inside lead to an observation deck.
Innsbruck's calling card is the golden roof that covers the balcony of a building in the central part of the Old Town. The house houses the Emperor Maximilian Museum.
The region is famous for its museum complexes, including the State History Museum (Ferdinandeum), the Grassmayr Bell Museum, the Folk Art Museum and the Anatomy Museum. The Royal Infantry Museum and the Panorama of Tyrol are combined into a single exposition. The Alpine Museum is located on the first floor of the Imperial Palace Hofburg, which is one of the main attractions of the city. It houses the world's oldest organ, around 10 hectares of magnificent garden with flowerbeds, pavilions, unique plants. The palace has a café where you can try the classic recipe for Sacher cake.
Maria Theresia Street, the city's main street, is pedestrianized and lined with stores, cafes and old mansions. There is a column of St. Anna surrounded by marble statues of the four patron saints of the city, next to the Triumphal Arch with historical bas-reliefs and coats of arms.
The beauty of the mountains, valleys and city buildings can be admired from the Hafelekar mountain, which is reached by the Nordkette cable car.
A unique museum of Swarovski crystals is built on the outskirts of the city. On the surface is the head of a giant with eyes made of green stones, from whose mouth jets of clear water flow into an artificial lake.
On the slopes is the Alpine Zoo, which is considered the highest in Europe.
Innsbruck is a famous ski resort, it hosted the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics. The Bergisel ski jump, which resembles a silver flying saucer, towers above the city. The structure is accessible by stairs or cable car and offers a majestic panoramic view of the surrounding countryside and the Inn riverfront.
Summer visitors get a chance to see and hear the annual Early Music Festival. Innsbruck is also home to the International Film Festival Innsbruck.
