Casino Velden story

Casino Velden is Austria's fifth casino. It was opened on July 14, 1950 in the resort of Felden at the largest Austrian lake Werther See.

As the number of visitors increased, the management decided to expand the gambling area. To begin with, in 1974, open-air gambling areas were equipped. In 1987, the construction of a new building directly on the shore of the Bay of Felden began. On June 17, 1988, the opening ceremony of the casino took place. The chic premises has a modern design, on the roof is a pointed spire in the Gothic style, which is perfectly visible from anywhere in the city.

In May 1989, an additional Casineum hall was opened for various events (presentations, seminars, conferences, balls, etc.), the festivities were attended by about 4000 guests. By May 2006, the Casineum was extended to the lake - the Casineum am See with an area of 480 square meters was completed. The building was overhauled and the public area opened by May 2014.

Felden is famous for being the backdrop in the popular Austrian TV series "The Castle on Lake Wörthersee".
