Golden Gate Hotel and Casino is considered the oldest establishment in Las Vegas. Its history began in 1906 with the installation of a tent hotel, which was later rebuilt in 2 floors and named Hotel Nevada.

In 1909, due to the prohibition of gambling, the hotel and casino were closed. In 1931, the building was renovated and renamed Sal Sagev (Las Vegas in reverse), from which point gambling activity in the state of Nevada was resumed.
