He has been chairman of the Compact Tribes Steering Committee since 1999. Prior to serving as Chairman, Mr. Miller also served as Gaming Commissioner for Elk Valley Rancheria, California.
Career:
The Elk Valley Resort Hotel and Casino features slot machines, poker and bingo, as well as entertainment programs and a casual atmosphere. The casino opened in 1995 and is located in Crescent City, California.
While serving as Chairman of the Elk Valley Rancheria, Mr. Miller was involved in and largely shares in the success of transferring land received by the tribe into trust status for the purpose of building a new casino resort. And it was a very challenging undertaking - the process of transferring the land on which the new casino will be located took eight years.
He is currently working with his tribal council and staff to begin construction of the new facility, which will overlook the Pacific Ocean and be located in the Redwoods on beautiful Highway 101.
Mr. Miller is working diligently to establish positive relationships with local, state and national governments to make the new casino resort a reality.

For his leadership abilities, Dale A. Miller was awarded the Native American Financial Officers Association (NAFOA) Tribal Leader of the Year Award on February 10, 2009.
