In 1987-1995, he studied at the University of Technology Kaunas, earning a master's degree in economics.
Staniulis' sporting nature has allowed him to achieve good results in the betting business, which is why his company Top Sport is thriving today. Having opened the first betting shop in Lithuania in 2001, the company has now expanded to 90 shops.

In his youth, G.Staniulis played for the Kaunas basketball team Zalgiris and was a Lithuanian champion. He was an attacking guard who played his last game on October 21, 2000.
